Luc van Stappershoef, Business Development Director of Force Fusion, only agrees half with both suppliers. "Server- and Desktop Virtualization are indeed both completely diffrent markets. They need to be approached diffrently, but on the basis of the same virtualization technology. According to him Desktop Virtualization is a lot complexer. The users are much more prominent with their different needs, the organization with it's policies and application managers. To make that all work together one needs understanding of people and organizations.

Technically van Stappershoef sees little diffrence between VDI and SBC. "SBC is also in essence Desktop Virtualization". The big difference is that in case of VDI a users gets dedicated recources and therefore will not notice the load of other users on the same server. These users have both visually as technically their own environment.

This last part is crucial you want to completely be able to have all applications layered but indepent but integrated on top of the operating system. This also counts for the user profile. By saying this van Stappershoef indicates that SBC will be legacy. "I don't think the future will be SBC, this also counts for streaming of operating systems and applications towards thin clients at the enduser". "In the future there will only run a user interface on the client".
